We are Hiring 2024 Summer Students Across Canada!
Delco Automation is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to join our Delco Security team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional setting, while learning about ICAT – Information, Communication, and Automation Technology. The Intern will be responsible for assisting with various projects, such as installation, programming, and customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow their skillset.
Requirements?
Currently enrolled as a returning university student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
CAD Project Support Intern
- Create Project Documentation packages, compiling all necessary drawings, datasheets, and manuals to ensure comprehensive project records for submittal.
- Generate final As-Built Documentation Package, accurately reflecting the completed project and any modifications made during construction or implementation.
- Work with minimal supervision with the guidance of the Project Manager, demonstrating the ability to manage tasks independently while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to coordinate project tasks and communicate progress, contributing to the overall success of the project.
- Assist in the development and optimization of CAD processes and workflows, actively seeking opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute insights and ideas to support project objectives and deliverables.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work.
Network Technician Intern
- Supporting the project team in staging and pre-programming network equipment and IP devices.
- Assisting senior technicians in the installation and servicing of network equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality according to project specifications.
- Working with minimal supervision under the guidance of the Project Manager, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and proactively address challenges to meet project deadlines.
- Reviewing and interpreting network designs, drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation to understand system requirements and assist in the implementation of network infrastructure.
- Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot technical issues, resolve network-related problems, and optimize system performance.
- Participating in on-site visits and inspections to support installation activities, providing hands-on assistance and following safety protocols and best practices.
- Assisting in the testing and commissioning of network systems, conducting functional tests and verifying proper operation to ensure customer satisfaction and system reliability.
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and quality standards, maintaining professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients, vendors, and colleague.
Field Technician Installation Support Intern
- Supporting the project team in staging and pre-programming equipment, including IP Cameras, Access Control Panels, PLCs, Nurse Call Systems, RTLS, and other IP devices.
- Assisting senior technicians in the installation and servicing of ICAT equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality according to project requirements.
- Working with minimal supervision under the guidance of the PM or Senior Tech, demonstrating the ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Interpreting electrical drawings and technical documentation to understand installation requirements and assist in the implementation of field equipment.
- Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot technical issues, resolve installation-related problems, and ensure the successful deployment of field equipment.
- Participating in site visits and inspections to support installation activities, providing hands-on assistance and adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Assisting in the testing and commissioning of field equipment, conducting functional tests, and verifying proper operation to meet project specifications.
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, maintaining professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
